NAODAN Chartering Inc. is an independent dry-cargo ship brokerage company located on beautiful Mercer Island about 10 minutes east of Seattle, Washington U.S.A. Established in June of 1992, NAODAN has earned a reputation as a trusted partner to the timber industry facilitating worldwide ocean transportation. Our staff can assist in all aspects of your ocean transportation needs, from the initial charter negotiations to final resolution of voyage accounts.

Meet Our Team
Dan began his education in shipping at SUNY Maritime College, graduating in 1981 with a U.S. unlimited 3rd officers license and a B.S. degree in Marine Transportation Management. After graduation Dan was employed at the Manhattan offices of Sanko Steamship Company of Japan. Having spent several years working in operations and chartering in Tokyo and Vancouver B.C., Dan joined a brokerage company in 1986 and founded NAODAN Chartering in 1992.
Ben graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Business Administration, and joined NAODAN Chartering in September of 2006. He currently manages day to day operations and accounts for both New Zealand and North American customers.
Erin joined NAODAN in November of 2015 as Office/Documentation Administrator. She has served as artistic administrator for various musical endeavors with individuals and non-profits, in addition to paving a career as a performer and coach.
Serena graduated in 2014 from University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and joined NAODAN in January of 2018 as an Operation’s Associate. Previously Serena worked as the Logistics Coordinator at Silvan Forest LLC in Bellevue, Washington. Serena enjoys food photography and has a personal foodie Instagram account and Blog.
